Review: Crazy Time Online

Crazy Time is a type of prize wheel casino game that is created by Evolution Gaming.

The game was based on Evolution’s original Dream Catcher prize wheel, which was inspired by the old Wheel of Fortune games you would see at carnivals and even on television in the 80s and 90s.

All of these games are essentially a simple version of a roulette-style game, in that there is an equal chance of winning on any one section of the wheel. However, in prize wheel games, each section of the wheel is numbered in varying frequencies, meaning some bets are more likely to pay out than others.

Crazy Time is unique in the world of prize wheels, in that it offers several different bonuses and props, making it exciting to watch - unlike most of the other spinning prize wheel casino games. These bonuses include a Top Slot multiplier, and four bonus games.

We recommend playing Crazy Time if you’re looking for plenty of entertainment as you gamble, as the game keeps you consistently anticipating the next bonus round. With an average RTP of 95.4% and a minimum bet of just £0.10, this is a game you can play for a long time without losing much money.

The Crazy Time Wheel

Before you are able to play Crazy Time, you need to understand how the main part of the game works - that is, the Crazy Time Wheel.

Just as in all prize wheel games, the wheel in Crazy Time is split into different sections. In Crazy Time, the wheel has 54 sections and these sections are either numbered or they are marked as bonus game sections. Some numbers and bonus games occur more frequently than others. The breakdown of all the sections is:

  • 1 (21 times)

  • 2 (13 times)

  • 5 (7 times)

  • 10 (4 times)

  • Coin Flip (4 times)

  • Pachinko (2 times)

  • Cash Hunt (2 times)

  • Crazy Time (1 time)

How to Play Crazy Time

To Play Crazy Time, you can place a bet on one, some, or all of the sections by clicking on the relevant number or bonus game at the bottom of the screen. Betting on the numbers means you will win the amount shown if the wheel stops spinning on your number. The payouts are:

  • 1 pays 1:1

  • 2 pays 2:1

  • 5 pays 5:1

  • 10 pays 10:1

If you bet on the bonus games, it means you will be able to participate in the game should the wheel lands on one of the bonus game segments. We strongly recommend playing the bonus games, as they’re the main source of fun in Crazy Time and also have the biggest payouts.

You are given 10 seconds to bet on the segments of the wheel you want, and then the game presenter will spin the wheel. Once the wheel has stopped, the presenter will declare the winning segment and the game will start all over again.

However, if the winning segment is a bonus game, things will play out differently depending on the game.

Crazy Time Bonus Games

In order to be involved in the Bonus Games, you need to have made a bet on the bonus game spots on the wheel.

The four Bonus Games in Crazy Time are:

  • Cash Hunt

  • Coin Flip

  • Pachinko

  • Crazy Time

Cash Hunt Bonus Game

A shooting gallery-style game with a whopping 108 random multipliers. These multipliers are covered by symbols and shuffled. The player then targets their cannon at the symbol which they believe is hiding the largest multiplier. Once the cannon shoots, the multiplier is revealed and the multiplier is won once the game is finished for all players.

All players choose their own individual target in this game, so everyone can win a different multiplier.

Coin Flip Bonus Game

The Coin Flip Bonus Game features a digital display and a physical coin flip. The digital display shows a red multiplier and blue multiplier. The coin, which has a red side and a blue side, is automatically flipped by the same machine, and players win the multiplier depending on which side the coin lands on.

Pachinko Bonus Game

The Pachinko Bonus Game features a large wall with physical pegs (a traditional pachinko game - nothing fancy). The game presenter drops a puck into the Pachinko wall and the players who have bet on the Pachinko Bonus Game will win the multiplier shown where the puck lands.

If the puck lands in the double value, all the multipliers are doubled and the puck will be dropped again. (This can technically happen until the multipliers reach a maximum of 10,000 - but that is very unlikely.)

Crazy Time Bonus Game

The Crazy Time Bonus Game is the least frequent game on the wheel, but it’s also the flashiest. The game presenter opens a red door, into which the players enter a virtual world with a huge virtual wheel.

Players are given the option to select a blue, green or yellow flapper, which are situated at the top of the wheel. When the presenter presses the big red button, the game begins.

The player wins the amount that their chosen flapper lands on, and the game ends. However, if a flapper points to a ‘double’ or ‘triple’ segment, all the multipliers will be doubled or tripled, and the wheel will be spun again for even more multipliers! This can be repeated up to a maximum of 20,000x multiplier, but you would need an extremely unlikely streak of luck to reach that.

Crazy Time Top Slot Multiplier

The Top Slot Multiplier isn’t strictly a bonus game, it’s actually part of the main game. The top slot will spin together with the prize wheel at the start of every round.

The Top Slot Multiplier generates one random multiplier for one random segment of the wheel for each round. This can be either a number of a bonus game. If the multiplier and the bet spot align in the Top Slot, the multiplier will be added to the segment. If they don't align there will be no multiplier for that spin.

If the wheel then stops on the multiplied segment, all the players who have won on that segment will win the random multiplier shown!

Crazy Time RTP

The average RTP in Crazy Time is 95.4%. However, this can be higher or lower depending on which bets you make.

The RTP for each bet is as follows:

  • 1 - 96.08%

  • 2 - 95.95%

  • 5 - 95.78%

  • 10 - 95.73%

  • Pachinko - 94.33%

  • Cash Hunt - 95.27%

  • Coin Flip - 95.70%

  • Crazy Time - 94.41%

Crazy Time Strategy

Crazy Time is a game of chance, not a game of skill, so there’s no reliable strategy to win at Crazy Time. However, when we play Crazy Time, we bet on the higher number segments (5 and 10), and always bet on the bonus games. This means you’re always in the running for the highest payouts, and you don’t feel left out when everyone else wins big.

Is Crazy Time Worth it?

First off, Crazy Time is no different to any other type of gambling which is purely a game of chance, in that it will lose you money in the long run. So if you’re gambling to make money, stay away from all games of chance - Crazy Time included.

However, if you’re gambling for fun and entertainment, then you can’t go wrong with Crazy Time at all. Consider the money you lose to be payment for the insane amount of bonus games and the stellar performances by the lovely game presenters on screen. You can even talk to them directly with the chat function.
